Mars One will establish a permanent human settlement on Mars. Crews of four will depart every two years, beginning in 2025. The 2025 team will have to maintain life within the first habitable, closed ecosystem on Mars in this unprecedented televised event. 1. While NASA is not involved with the Mars One mission, which is being organized by a group of private investors, NASA is planning an ecosystem to bring life to Mars, too. 2.
